With the title “The researcher career path in Europe: is it (im)possible in Spain?”, the Universidad de Castilla La Mancha (UCLM) organized the first informative session for students and researchers in which funding opportunities, and professional alternatives were discussed. Also and where a number of workshops about transferrable skills and other research related topics were discussed organized. 

FECYT has published a map of funding opportunities to carry out research in Spain: the “Researcher Career Path in Spain at a glance!” providing information about the different stages and funding calls between 2015-2017 of the researcher career in both the public and private sectors. 

EURAXIND is Horizon 2020 project aiming to strengthen relationships between industry and higher education. FECYT is a partner in this project coordinated by CRAC-Vitae, the global leader in supporting the professional development of researchers, experienced in working with institutions as they strive for research excellence, innovation and impact.

During the next twelve months, FECYT will coordinate the European project “EUESCADA” in which 6 more partners participate: the Universidad de Cantabria, the Universidad de Zaragoza, the Universidad de Granada, the Universidad de Castilla La Mancha, the Agencia Andaluza del Conocimiento, and Bizkaia:Talent.

Policies supporting professional development within the field of research should guarantee the continuous development of knowledge, competencies and abilities of researchers in order to enhance their scientific performance and facilitate intersectoral, interdisciplinary and geographical mobility.

This 16th September, the NatureJobs Career Expo London 2016 celebrates its tenth edition, and FECYT participates with the exhibition stand “Science in Spain”. The day before, the Embassy of Spain in London hosts the event “Science in Spain 2016 – Science Jobs Opportunities”, an informative session where different funding opportunities will be presented to scientists interested in doing research in Spain. The event has been sold out with 60 attendees, covering the maximum expected capacity.

FECYT participates in the project EURAXIND to strengthen the EURAXESS services for the private sector and to foster intersectoral mobility. This project aims at reinforcing the services EURAXESS can offer to organizations and researchers in the private sector, with the objective of supporting intersectoral mobility.

On May 11th, FECYT participated in the Third EURAXESS Links Conference “Connecting researchers worldwide”. The aim of the conference was to strengthen scientific relations between Europe and Latin American countries.
