FECYT participates in Brussels at the international seminar "A Science Diplomacy Approach for Belgium”

On December 1st the seminar "A Science Diplomacy Approach for Belgium" was held in Brussels, organized by Belgian institutions and supported by the European project H2020-ELCSID.

The Science Coordinator of FECYT in Germany, Guillermo Orts, presented during the first session entitled "Good practices in scientific diplomacy" some of FECYT's experiences in science diplomacy and well as its strategy and contribution to European projects. Furthermore, he introduced the recent publication "Report on Science, Technology and Innovation Diplomacy.".

At the event, which was opened by Kostas Glinos, Director General for Research and Innovation of the European Commission, were also invited representatives from UNESCO, the National Science Foundation (NSF) and a number of Belgian, Swiss and French institutions. Following the official presentations, two roundtables were held to discuss possible improvements in the Belgian strategy on scientific diplomacy.
