Within the framework of the INTERCOONECTA Plan of Spanish Cooperation, the Secretary of State for R + D + i, through the Spanish Foundation for Science and Technology (FECYT), and the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID), will organize the course SCIENCE DIPLOMACY FOR PUBLIC MANAGERS OF LATIN AMERICA for managers of public organizations of Latin American countries.

The Ambassador of the United Kingdom in Spain, Simon Manley, and the Spanish Secretary of State for Research, Development, and Innovation, Carmen Vela, both participated on 22nd June 2017 in an event about Science advice in the Fundación Rafael del Pino.
On the 22nd of June the Secretary of State for Science, Development and Innovation, the Spanish Foundation for Science and Technology (FECYT), the British Embassy in Madrid, and the Rafael del Pino Foundation are jointly organizing a conference on science policy advice structures in the UK and in Spain.
After the positive impact of the first edition of “Ambassadors for Science” in 2016, this shadowing scheme between scientists and diplomats comes back with a second edition that will be carried out in the United Kingdom between September 2017 and January 2018.
The scheme “Ambassadors for Science” began in May 2016 in the United Kingdom with nine couples of scientists and diplomats, who shared a few days together to learn about their different professional worlds, and to share their experiences in a last session in October 2016.
FECYT, the Embassy of Spain in the United Kingdom through its Office for Cultural and Scientific Affairs and its Office of Employment and Social Security, and the Society of Spanish Researchers in the United Kingdom (SRUK/CERU), with the collaboration of the British Council, have published the second edition of the “Guide for the Spanish Researcher in the United Kingdom.
With the title “The researcher career path in Europe: is it (im)possible in Spain?”, the Universidad de Castilla La Mancha (UCLM) organized the first informative session for students and researchers in which funding opportunities, and professional alternatives were discussed. Also and where a number of workshops about transferrable skills and other research related topics were discussed organized.
