The 3rd Meeting of Spanish Science, Technology and Innovation Diplomacy in September
On September 7th, a public session will be held at the Ramón Areces Foundation within the framework of the 3rd Meeting of Spanish Science, Technology and Innovation Diplomacy. During the event organised by FECYT and the Ramón Areces Foundation, the state-of-art of Science Diplomacy and its future prospects will be discussed.
The meeting will be attended by the Secretary of State for Research, Development and Innovation, Ms Carmen Vela and by the Secretary of State for International Cooperation and Ibero-America, Mr Fernando García Casas.
Science, Technology and Innovation Diplomacy aims, to contribute finding answers for global societal challenges such as climate change, pandemics, natural disasters, nuclear proliferation or cybersecurity, by drawing on scientific knowledge and innovative technology. Thus, modern Science, Technology and Innovation Diplomacy is considered as a network of multiple agents (governmental and non-governmental, public and private). Its governance, therefore, implies an effort of coordination and integration of different stakeholders and strategies that work towards shared interests.
During the public session on September 7th,a panel of renowned speakers of international prestige in the field of Science Diplomacy will address and discuss the different national and regional strategies, and trends in an increasingly interconnected world.
