Students and science. Survey on young Latin Americans

This publication contains the results of a regional survey carried out in the framework of the “Perception of young people about science and the scientific profession” project, conducted by the Latin American Observatory of Science, Technology and Society of the OEI’s Centre for High Education Studies, with the support of the Spanish Agency of International Cooperation for Development (AECID), between 2008 and 2010, in which almost nine thousand Latin American students were interviewed, who form a representative sample of middle-level students from some capitals, cities and their suburbs: Asunción, Bogotá, Buenos Aires, Lima, Madrid, Montevideo and São Paulo. FECYT, in collaboration with the Institute of Educational Assessment of the Ministry of Education, adapted and implemented the survey in the community of Madrid. This survey was conducted between April and June 2010.
